The desk & its work · Los Angeles

Every line below is one thing we make for B2B SaaS teams — planned, reported, written, and tuned to be found. Read the prices. Then tell us which one you keep meaning to ship.

The desk stays busy with seed-stage dev tools, RevOps platforms, fintech APIs, HR software, and data teams — the ones with a roadmap and no afternoons to spare.

What the desk makes

Six kinds of writing, priced without a squint.

Commission one, or fold several into a retainer. Every piece is reported, edited twice, and delivered to your CMS ready to publish.

  • 01

    Long-form

    The reported feature

A 2,000–2,600 word article built on a real interview with your engineers or customers — the piece a founder forwards and a buyer bookmarks. Search intent and internal links built in, not bolted on.

    • One source interview
    • On-page SEO
    • Two revisions
    $1,150 per article Commission
  • 02

    Proof, told well

    The customer case study

The before, the turn, the numbers that mattered — a narrative your sales team can hand over without apology. Two interviews, one with the champion, one with the day-to-day user.

    • Two interviews
    • Pull-quotes
    • Metrics vetted with you
    $1,450 per study Commission
  • 03

    The standing weekly

    The newsletter issue

One issue, from blank subject line to send — a voice your list opens on purpose. We write it, thread the links, and hand it back in your ESP, or press send ourselves.

    • Subject-line A/B
    • One revision
    • Send-ready
    $650 per issue Commission
  • 04

    The map before the miles

    The SEO content calendar

A quarter mapped topic by topic — keywords clustered, intent named, cadence set, internal-link structure drawn ahead of time. You get a plan a team can execute on a Monday without scrambling.

    • Keyword clusters
    • 90-day cadence
    • Link architecture
    $2,800 per quarter Commission
  • 05

    The cornerstone

    The pillar page

The definitive 3,500-word guide your category keeps circling back to — the page other posts link up to and search engines keep returning. Built to hold rank long after it ships.

    • Two interviews
    • Cluster-ready
    • Two revisions
    $3,400 per page Commission
  • 06

    Where you stand today

    The editorial audit

A clear-eyed read of the library you already have — what to keep, what to refresh, what to retire, and the five posts to write next. A short document you can act on the same week.

    • Content inventory
    • Refresh list
    • Next-five brief
    $980 one-off Commission

How a piece is made

Every service moves through the same four hands.

Whatever you commission, it travels the same road — taken by the writer who took the brief, all the way to your CMS. No relay race, no lost voice.

  1. i.The listen

A short call to hear the roadmap, the reader, and the point you keep meaning to make.

  2. ii.The report

Interviews with the people who actually know — engineers, customers, the founder.

  3. iii.The draft

Written slow and structured for search, then sharpened across two clean revisions.

  4. iv.The ship

Published to your CMS in your tone, on your calendar — nothing new for your team to learn.

To carry a piece further

Small extras, added by the line.

Bolt any of these onto a feature, a study, or a retainer. Priced flat, quoted before we start.

$220

Extra source interview

A second or third voice woven into the piece — a customer, a partner, an engineer with the detail that makes it real.

$180

Repurpose thread

One published piece cut down into a LinkedIn or X thread, in the same voice, ready to post the day it ships.

$340

Refresh & re-rank

An older post rewritten for today — updated facts, tightened structure, fresh internal links to lift it back up the results.

Before you commission

The questions we hear most.

Honest answers to what founders and content leads ask before the first brief. If yours isn’t here, ask it on the call.

How long until the first piece lands?

A single feature is usually with you in ten to twelve working days — a few for the interview and reporting, the rest for writing and two revisions. Retainers settle into a rhythm where drafts arrive on a set day each week.

Who actually writes it?

The same writer who took your brief carries it to the final line — reporting, drafting, and editing under one roof. Your voice never gets handed down a chain of anonymous freelancers.

Do I need a retainer, or can I start small?

Start with a single $1,150 feature to feel the fit — it’s yours to publish either way, no obligation to continue. Many teams move to a monthly retainer once they’ve seen how one piece reads.

What if the draft isn’t right?

Two clean revisions come with every piece — you mark it up, we sharpen it. If the direction was off from the start, we’d rather find that on the call than in the draft, which is why the first fifteen minutes are free.

Can you write in our existing voice?

Yes — we read your last dozen posts before writing a word, and match tone, cadence, and vocabulary. Published straight to your CMS, a reader shouldn’t be able to tell where your desk ends and ours begins.

A quiet fifteen minutes

Name the piece you keep putting off.

Tell us the topic and the reader. We’ll say honestly which service fits, what it costs, and when it lands — and if we’re not the right hand, we’ll point you somewhere better.
